Our Values

Frontier Book Clubs seeks to promote the ethos of respect, responsibility and hard work that are the bedrock of American values. These principles inspired influential and courageous early leaders to invent and explore, to defend their country, and to stand for truth in the face of adversity. The founders and research team at Frontier Book Clubs hold these traditions dear. Our desire is to encourage and inspire this generation with the time-honored traditions and principles upon which our country was built. We look forward to sharing new stories that will inspire readers of all ages to love reading, to learn well, and to pursue excellence. Maybe one day, they will have a great story to tell too.

We have assembled a top notch research team with extensive experience in the fields of education and literacy. The team is building an ever growing inventory of high quality book titles for readers of all ages and interests. We are thrilled to release the Launch Edition and hope readers enjoy this inaugural journey across the great Frontier, a frontier that is filled with adventure, promise and fun!

Our Books

At our book fairs, we offer a wide range of books that take children on literary adventures. Through the stories of both fictional and real-life characters, readers can learn from their experiences, trials, and triumphs. Our extensive collection features books that are enjoyable to read, embody the American spirit, and inspire readers with stories that promote leadership, responsibility, ingenuity, and entrepreneurship.

We are excited to entice new authors who align with our company values. Our research team will be actively searching out and vetting new authors to grow Frontier’s selections to be featured alongside the timeless classics and beloved characters.

Restoring Excellence

All books at Frontier Book Fairs are carefully vetted by our educator-led research team through a multi-step review process before being added to our database in order to:

  • Ensure content aligns with our company mission
  • Evaluate the literary quality of each work
  • Curate a balanced selection to challenge advanced readers and support reluctant or struggling readers
  • Build a top-quality database across genres and grade levels

Meet Our Team

Paulette Habersetzer

Founder

Paulette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. She has served nearly 30 years in the field of education. She founded two schools over the span of her career and has impacted hundreds of children in her community from preschool to twelfth grade.

With Frontier Press, Paulette seeks to provide school children across America with a superior selection of educational materials and engaging stories that teach traditional values, provide literary rich content, promote problem-solving and critical thinking, and inspire creativity and leadership.

Dean Habersetzer

Founder

Dean holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering. In 2024, he retired from the Boeing Company, where he worked for 34 years in various production engineering and management roles. His strengths are building lean production systems and process improvement. He has enjoyed his retirement from Boeing and joining Paulette in an opportunity to make a positive impact in education with Frontier Books.

Lyn Scott

Research Team & Curriculum Development

Lyn earned a BA in English and minor in Politics & Government from the University of Puget Sound, including completing an intensive program called The Writing Institute. She has had an extensive background in the field of education for over 24 years. Her real passion is studying the classics and “squeezing the marrow” out of the finest literary works as she helps her college prep students develop their critical thinking and writing skills.

As a teacher, she is committed to building strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills by choosing literature that is a treasure worth digging for.

Jeri Fodge

Research Team & Curriculum Development

Jeri brings 20 years of teaching experience with her. She has a master’s degree in education with a K-12 Reading Endorsement and earned her bachelor’s degree in K-8 education at Washington State University. She has personally experienced the struggle with the lack of solid classroom book club options and looks forward to being in a position to offer a new and trusted option to teachers and students.

Deborah Pattie

Research Team & Quality Control

Deborah has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Arts in Teaching. She served four years as an officer in the United States Air Force, evaluating research and development programs for their cost and schedule performance. She then worked as an engineer for The Boeing Company until she returned home to homeschool her children. She constantly reviewed curriculums and honed in on her educational philosophy which led to her passion for history and classical literature. Once her children were grown, she taught high school at The Academy of Snohomish and eventually served in an administrative role, making improvements to the curriculum and adding a more robust literature component to the program.

Theresa Fischer

Research Team Partner

Theresa has been a home educator for 23 years and brings a wealth of experience as a Classical educator. The knowledge that she gained both as a Classical Conversations’ Tutor and Challenge 1 Director allowed Theresa to gain valuable experience identifying and evaluating literature and curriculum. She thrives in opportunities to gather and organize data making it easy to analyze and process. Theresa is inspired by the thought of Frontier Press impacting potentially millions of students through high quality literature.
